Swing Dance with Swingin’ Denver: Family Saturdays at Boulder Public Library

Boulder Library Family Saturdays: Swing Dance with Swingin’ Denver
Swingin’ Denver is excited to showcase a continuum of Black social dance emerging during the Harlem Renaissance and practiced to this day in the originating community and worldwide. Dances you might find yourself learning and experiencing include the Turkey Trot, Shim Sham, Charleston, Lindy Hop and more! Come and join us to find joy, liberation and freedom with each other through dance. We'll be joined by The Diamond Dolls performing a playful choreography, danced to “Boogie Man” by Sid Phillips, filled with vernacular jazz footwork, silly solo moments, and whimsical rhythms that showcase the fun of swing dancing music. Light-hearted and theatrical, this choreography puts a smile on the faces of the dancers and viewers alike!

Family Saturdays are a weekly recurring event in the Canyon Theater at 11 a.m. Enjoy a variety of performances!
